A farming area since around 1730 the conservation area was purchased by the town in 2010. Windrush horse farm still works some of the land and an equine therapy is based here.

Windrush is a horse farm in Boxford, where you can find activities to provide quality Equine-assisted services for children and adults facing physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. This is one of the oldest therapeutic riding centers in the United States; they have volunteer opportunities and it is an open space for those who want to visit and know more about their work.
