The history of Onoz is closely linked to that of the Château de Mielmont: both
lordships belonged to the lords of Merlemont. Crossed by the NamurMons road, Onoz was an obligatory passage until the construction of the Eghezée-Auvelais road in
1851. For several centuries, the Tcherettes road was a nightmare for coachmen.
Its church dedicated to Saint Martin is already mentioned in the 15th century. The hermitage of
Montserrat and the original chapel have disappeared, but the worship given to Notre-Dame de
Montserrat is still alive.

the farm to the left of the church, with its paved courtyard, its old walls and its magnificent weeping willow, offers a magnificent view... and from another time.
