The Eberstein consists of Devonian mass limestone. The lime deposits have largely been mined. When the quarry was in operation, around 300,000 tons of limestone were mined per year. The NSG Eberstein was expelled in 1957. The area is 3 hectares and is located in the Biebertal district of Königsberg. The basis for protection was botanical, plant-sociological and geological.
