beautiful former castle garden. The castle itself was sold for demolition in 1826. The district court building erected here in 1880 has been used as a community center since 1977.

The baroque Vechelder Castle was built in 1671. After its demolition at the end of the 19th century, it was replaced by a district court building, which today houses the Vechelder Civic Center. The park, however, was preserved.
