Tips

  • We may pass Cravant, located on the national 6, more than we stop there, and that's a shame. This village indeed conceals interesting witnesses of the Middle Ages, starting with a keep from the beginning of the sixteenth century and flanked by an elegant octagonal turret. This dungeon was used as a prison: Templars, in particular, were locked up there. It was also a watchtower during the Hundred Years War. Cravant also retains a 22-meter high semi-circular belfry nicknamed the "Tour du Guette" or "the Clock Tower". This was once part of the ramparts.
