The ascent on the bike route from Rüschegg Gambach to Riffenmatt is much nicer than the direct road connection. It goes up to 1,100 meters, but there are pleasant gradients of hardly more than 8% each and the view from various points of the Gurnigel area and partly of the large Bernese mountains behind it by far compensates for the effort. Part of the route (the flat section at the top) is a gravel road.
