It's a special experience to discover a herd of up to 60 wild horses, consisting of stallions and mares of all ages. Mating and foaling can be observed throughout the summer months, but especially in April and May.

During harsh winters, the horses are fed straw. They are also under constant observation, and if an animal becomes ill, a veterinarian is called. The wild horses live in a herd of approximately 60 adult animals with a lead stallion and mare. However, the lead stallion must be replaced occasionally to prevent inbreeding. This last happened in 2019.
