The former pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the parish church of Oberostendorf in the Allgäu.
The Oberostendorf pilgrimage to the Sorrowful Mother of God began around 1500 and lasted until 1810. The rich furnishings of the church bear witness to this.
The base of the tower, the chancel and the core of the nave have been preserved from the original late Gothic building (around 1497). The exterior and interior were baroque in the 17th and 18th centuries.
