St. Anne was also the patron saint of the castle chapel, which was demolished in 1843. Many of the castle's lords from the Barth family (the coat of arms features a bearded face) are buried in the church.
Today's branch church of St. Leonard and Anne of the Vierkirchen parish is a Gothic building that was rebuilt or expanded during the Baroque period, and above all, refurbished.
