    The castle on the Zablestein reached after the extinction of the original lords of the castle in 1300 in the possession of the diocese of Würzburg. The prince-bishops significantly expanded the castle and soon the castle was considered impregnable. The fortress became official residence and important documents and the episcopal treasure were housed here.

    During the Peasant War, the castle was badly damaged, but then rebuilt. In 1689 there was a devastating fire and the heavily damaged castle was abandoned.

    Today, the remains are listed and can still give you an idea of ​​the former facility
