The Casone de Fazio was built around 1925 at an altitude of about 1120 meters in an area known as Acqua Carpegna. On the right side of the hut there is a fountain with spring water: it is advisable to stock up on water here before undertaking the final climb to Pizzo San Michele. Not far from the building you can see the remains of an ancient calcara where the lime used for the construction of the buildings on the summit was cooked.

Area where the asphalt road ends at 1100m and the trekking and mountain biking route begins to climb to the peak where the Sanctuary of Pizzo San Michele is located at an altitude of 1567m above sea level, with a spectacular view. The route to go up to the sanctuary is more of a trekking one, but with a bit of effort you can also do it on your mountain bike!!
