The Wirzenborn pilgrimage church can be reached via the Kapellenstraße in about 200 m distance. It was first mentioned in 1497, the pilgrimages took place mainly from Montabaur and were possibly first caused by the great city fire in 1491. From 1498 to 1510 the current church was built in place of the chapel. The miraculous image of Wirzenborn, a standing Madonna with the baby Jesus on her left arm and the scepter in her right hand, is estimated to date from around 1380 due to its shape.
