Kottenforst station, built in 1880, is a jewel of German carpentry from a time when one no longer built half-timbered buildings: with domed roof, struts, white plaster. A retrospective romanticism and longing for the good old days have set their monument right in the middle of the forest. Trains stop at Kottenforst station. The visitors come by train every hour, of course by bike, hiker, Nordic Walker and increasingly also on horseback. In autumn and winter you can sit in the cozy station restaurant, outside under oak trees in spring and summer.
