A first parish church is mentioned in Dischingen for the year 1352. The present church was Prince Alexander Ferdinand von Thurn and taxis of his court architect Joseph Dossenberger build. Within just three years, from 1769 to 1771, the new church was completed. In 1785 the consecration was performed by the Augsburg suffragan bishop Johann Nepomuk August Ungelter. Dischingen belonged until 1812 to the Diocese of Augsburg, in 1821 it was incorporated into the newly created Diocese of Rottenburg.
