Haus Schwarzenstein, once a 14th-century knight's castle, was the seat of the Knights of the Mountains. First mentioned in 1348, it was surrounded by a moat. In 1716, it passed to the Lord of Krudenburg, who carried out renovations and created an orangery and hermitage park, of which the ponds, now surrounded by woodland, still remain a short distance east of the access road. The money ran out, and in 1776 it was sold to the bourgeois Eichelberg family. Their family burial plot still stands along the access road. In the 19th century, the dilapidated castle was demolished except for the tower, and the houses that still stand today were built. The estate is currently leased to a towed hunting club.kuladig.de/Objektansicht/O-55428-20121012-4
