Fine gravel in the shady beech forest. But also quite steep.

The Diepoldsburg ruins are a double castle consisting of the Upper Diepoldsburg and the Lower Diepoldsburg, also known as Rauber Castle. It is located in the district of Unterlenningen in the municipality of Lenningen in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg. The Felsenburg lies above the Lautertal at 780 m above sea level. NN high ridge.

The name "Rauber" refers exclusively to the Lower Diepoldsburg, which was created shortly after the founding of the Upper Diepoldsburg. It was probably given this second name, first mentioned in 1624, because it was used as a robber baron's castle.

Beautiful forest/forest path down to Sattelbogen or uphill up to Engelhof. Going uphill takes a bit of a drag and requires a bit of strength and will, but it can be mastered with any type of bike and without any technical challenges. There are no sliding areas and I wouldn't call it a gravel path either, because the ground is solid / not loose and therefore safe to drive on. This section of the path is also an uphill alternative if you want to avoid the Rauber Path, which runs parallel a little further up.
