Ruwer-Hochwald Cycle Path

The Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path is another highlight of the railway cycle paths in the Hunsrück. The 48-kilometer route from Trier / Ruwer to Hermeskeil is one of the most beautiful bike paths on railway lines in Germany. Most of the route runs on the route of the former Hochwaldbahn, only the section Zerf - Mandern sewage treatment plant uses a farm road (nature conservation). The cycle path initially follows the river Ruwer upwards in a southerly direction and crosses it on numerous bridges (the railway line had 28 Ruwer bridges).

The Ruwertal cycle path is for every cyclist - whether young or old. suitable and can be driven very well.

The stoppers are easy to drive through. But be careful, you sometimes cross streets
