Managed by the Vigo port authority, the Cabo Silleiro lighthouse is in Oia, in the province of Pontevedra. The original building, at sea level, was inaugurated in 1866, and in August 1924 the current lighthouse was inaugurated, located 85 meters above sea level, on a nearby mountain.
The building has a rectangular floor plan and has the lighthouse tower on its west façade. Since 1966 it has had a 3000w lamp, which can be seen from 40 miles if the weather is clear.
