Popular bike route to change the island side. At the top there is a large rest/parking lot with barbecue facilities. Various hiking routes also start from there. The descent to the east side can often be wet and very cold when the clouds hang in. Unfortunately, the road to the west side is in poor condition. A pothole can sometimes be overlooked due to shade or changes in the sun. From time to time cars come towards you. So be careful on the curves as it is a narrow road.

Road cycling

A truly exciting climb that I highly recommend as it passes through spectacular landscapes that are definitely worth a visit. I have had the pleasure of tackling this climb several times and each time I feel great joy in climbing the gentle slopes that lead up to El Pilar. The road is pleasant, with little traffic and in good condition.
