According to the legend, here stood a larch tree that simply could not be felled. Only when the Kasererbauer vowed to build a chapel instead of the larch, the tree could be blown away - from its wood, the Mother of God church was built.
At that time, as well as today, the Kaserer Bild was a frequently visited place of pilgrimage.
