Currently, only dredging is taking place at the Steinhäuser Wühlsee to level the lake bed.

The operator submitted an application for a new mining area in 2024 between Wammsee and Deutsche Wühl, but subsequently withdrew the application. Therefore, no new dredging lake will be created there.

Hiking

At the two-part lake German Wühl still gravel is mined. On Sundays we were able to pass the path on the left at the factory site, there were no barriers. The water from the lake is beautifully crystal clear. However, bathing is prohibited because of gravel mining. The lake can be completely circumnavigated on a path.
