Scorlazzone and Scorlazzino derive from the Bergamasco dialect "scorlassù" cleaver or cutlass and "scorlassì", small butcher's knife used for boning.

The use of the "scorlass" intended as a cutlass presupposes a rather rough job, poorly finished, certainly not done well.

The route of the Scaletta dello Scorlazzino and its continuation, Scaletta dello Scorlazzone, are anything but linear, furthermore their slope is uneven, which is why this route was probably defined as "made with the scorlass" i.e. not finished to perfection 'art.

Scorlazzino derives from the Bergamasco dialect "scorlassì", small butcher's knife. The use of the "scorlass" intended as a cutlass implies a rather rough job, poorly finished.

The route of the Scorlazzino ladder and its continuation (Scorlass ladder) are anything but straight, their slope is uneven which is why this route was probably defined as "made with the scorlass" i.e. not finished to perfection art.

The Scorlazzino Scaletta is the best known and most characteristic of the Bergamo Scalette.
It develops among vegetable gardens and hidden gardens and has origins already in the Middle Ages. It pleasantly connects via San Martino della Pigrizia with via Sudorno and has as its older sister the Scaletta dello Scorlazzone, which starting from its top connects the center of the San Vigilio mountain.
Together, these streets constitute the central rib of the network of pedestrian paths that develop on the Colli di Bergamo Alta.
