The mountain Alte Warth has a great importance for tourism in Wartburgkreis. Since the 1960s, the Old Warth has also been known by the motorsport site located there, in the GDR era, the motor-cross events were a crowd puller. After the reunification, the interests of recreational sports were abandoned in favor of nature. The numerous rare plants and animal species had the inclusion in the FFH area 169 (Schweinaer reason, Zechsteing belt to Bad Liebenstein) result. I now like it much better as a nature reserve with a great view of the Werra Valley 😍
