The hedge garden of the castle in Hohenstadt is located a few steps north of the castle and is one of the oldest gardens of this type in Europe. A first mention is dated 1549. In 1756 a new system was built in the French style.

The Baroque hedge garden in Hohenstadt is no longer open to the public, and weddings, etc., are no longer held there. It is completely neglected, unkempt, and run-down – a pity!
