Maria Alm is located in the Urslautal. Soon, farms, the so-called Schwaiger, were built. These were rented out on loan. Only one free farmer remained in Maria Alm: the Krontreiter. The Wallfahrtskirche of Maria Alm was built in 1374. Later, the characteristic church tower was raised to 83 meters, making it the highest church tower in the Salzburgerland.
