The Waltershausen Town Hall is located at Markt 1 in Waltershausen, a town in the Gotha district of Thuringia.
The oldest town hall in Thuringia was built in 1441 as a half-timbered house over a massive cellar and changed in the 16th century.
Until 1994 the two-story building was plastered.
After excavation work, the half-timbered structure with remains of the polychrome compartment from the 16th century became visible again.

Historic Town Hall (1441), the second oldest half-timbered town hall in central Germany, has been thoroughly restored since 1990. Vaulted cellar with impressive cross burr and barrel vaults. The first floor served as a banquet hall and market hall. On the second floor are the offices of the mayor's office (Wikipedia).
