Wohlbach extends to 520 - 540 m above sea level in the valley floor of the Eisenbach.
The forest comes very close to the place in the north as well as in the south, which is probably where its former name Waltpach can be traced back to.
Wohlbach is crossed by the Eisenbach.
Wohlbach has the oldest medieval church in the Upper Vogtland with Romanesque and early Gothic elements. The 'Parish Church of Our Lady Maria' was first mentioned in a document in 1447.
