A center for nervous diseases is said to have existed here as early as pre-Christian times. This tradition has been preserved to this day: there is still a psychiatric clinic here. The most famous patient was probably Vincent van Gogh, who painted some of his most famous pictures here. Parts of the building complex can be visited (admission currently 7 euros). Worth seeing is the Romanesque church with the cloister, the garden in which van Gogh painted many pictures and the reconstruction of his room, which is also known as a motif of a picture.
