Around the town of Graiguenamanagh you can wonderfully explore the River Barrow on the SUP. You can get the SUP at “Pure adventure”, for example. In addition to SUPs, canoes and kayaks are also rented and guided tours are offered there.

The towns of Graiguenamana and Thomastown both have outdoor swimming areas on their river that are supervised with lifeguards during July and August. It is possible to swim outdoors without need of wetsuit during June, July, Aug and Sept. (+Possibly other months depending on your tolerance for cool water temperatures). It is very refreshing on a warm summer's day! Enjoy, and God bless
