The Strath - often used by fisherman, locals, and logging trucks. Beautiful smooth road all along the River Helmsdale, with lots of opportunities for passing as it's a singletrack road. Be on the lookout for Red Deer & Sea Eagles. There's a small waterfall where the Kildonan Burn meets the Helmsdale, and this is where the Kildonan "Gold Rush" took place for all of a year. As of Summer '23, once a week the RAF flew a Hercules cargo plane through the valley along the road on training flights and it would be quite a rush if it went overhead!
