The church, which is of Lombard Romanesque style, has three naves which are divided by two rows of marble columns and which end with an apse [1] [2]. On the top of the columns there are capitals on which the symbols of Christianity are depicted [1] [2]. The ceiling is wooden trusses [1].

The main altar and the pulpit, in Carrara marble, are in Byzantine style and are inspired by the altars and pulpits of the basilica of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan and the Byzantine basilicas in Ravenna [2]. Influenced by the Milanese basilica is also the bell tower [1]. The exterior of the church is in exposed brick and serizzo stone [1] [2]. On the left of the church there is an octagonal building which is intended as a baptistery [1] [2]. In 1923, mosaics were created in the lunettes of the façade and the baptistery that refer to the figure of the Most Holy Redeemer, to whom the church is dedicated [2] [4].

In the apse the transfiguration of Jesus is painted on a gold background [2]. The interior of the church is embellished with frescoes. Also noteworthy is a Via Crucis in bronze tiles and the stained glass windows [2] [4]. The latter have an upper round arch [2]. The church of the Redentore houses a 1635 painting by Giambattista and Francesco Lampugnani from the church of the Purification which represents the Purification [
