The route from Lattenkamp subway station to Eppendorfer Mühlenteich and then along the Tarpenbek should then more consistently go west of the airport (around the west runway which is tunneled by the Tarpenbek) and continue along the Tarpenbek until it tunnels through the runway (now north) for a second time, then to the Krohnstieg tunnel. Behind this, keep left to the retention basin but not further along the Tarpenbek (because this route is partially closed to cyclists) but right along the retention basin along the Bornbach to leisure route 12.
2. If you prefer to cycle along leisure route 12, you can skip the Groß Borstel area, cycle along the Alster (also beautiful), come along Sengelmannstrasse (laborious), then east of the airport onto leisure route 12 and then near Tarpen, the Tarpenbek again, which then ends near Schmuggelstieg - but not Tarpenbek. You can then continue along the Tarpenbak in Norderstedt to the NO Standpark (also nice because of the largely green landscape away from roads).

I passed by there on August 18, 2025, on my "Hamburg Energy Networks Return Trip" tour. I missed the Rothsteinmoor cycle path.
The tour was my way back from work, which I planned with Komoot. I'm happy with the result. This commute leads mostly through beautiful landscapes.
