The Moselle landscape west of Trier in the direction of Luxembourg is not as crowded as the more popular part of the tour around Cochem and Bernkastel, and has its own special charm, depending on the season. The Wasserbillig, which is overpopulated by "gas and coffee tourism", offers much more than the lined-up gas stations on the main street. One should take the time to explore the old town areas and the vineyards with the wonderful views over the Mosel valley. The Elbling grown here is also a fine drop that has its lovers.
