Who was Dr. Stefan Jarosz? He was a Polish traveler, geographer, and nature conservationist. He trained as a forester and geographer and defended his doctoral thesis entitled "Geographical and Forestry Research in the Gorce Mountains" in 1932. All of his activities were closely connected to the mountains. In the 1940s, he worked as a forester in the Polish Tatra Mountains and crossed Zamarła Turnia, the Żabi Koń Wall, and the northwestern face of Świnica. He taught at the universities of Poznań and Warsaw.
