On the story of Saint Anthony of Padua:
At this spot, the girls in the area always prayed to Saint Anthony of Padua to find a "good man." If their search was successful, they always placed a stone at the foot of the column. Saint Anthony was quite a successful matchmaker, as the stones show. To make this work, however, the girl was supposed to recite the following saying:
    "Oh, Saint Anthony of Padua:
Give me a man who doesn't eat anything,
    who doesn't waste anything,
    and doesn't waste anything,
and doesn't let anyone go to a wedding."

Whether Saint Anthony guarantees this and whether a stone can be returned has not been established.

From the book "Genussradeln im Landkreis Tirschenreuth" (Pleasure Cycling in the Tirschenreuth District), Battenberg Gietl Verlag, page 70

I don't know if the saying applies to married women as well.
    Just in case:
The geodata for the image of St. Anthony at the Mühlnicklweiher: WGS 84 (lat/lon) 49.84677, 12.20912
    and:
    1. Trying is better than studying.
    2. But often the saying also applies: Nothing better comes along.
Unfortunately, the latter also applies to some state premiers, chancellors, and transport ministers ;-)

A fake news photo has crept in among the photos - from America ;-): The number of stones placed is slightly exaggerated.
