Vennbahn Rail Trail

From Aachen to Troisvierges or vice versa, the Vennbahn is always a relaxing experience. The minimal slope and the fully asphalted cycle path ensure the highest driving comfort. The Vennbahn is part of the Ravel program of the Walloon Region in Belgium and is reserved for non-motorized traffic.

It is not without reason that the Vennbahn is a highlight among cycling enthusiasts, enjoy it from start to finish, with regular information boards, rest areas... Best to do in spring or autumn because of the views.

Over a distance of 125 km you will pass through beautiful landscapes between Aachen and Troisvierges. For a century, the Venn railway (vennbahn.eu) was a "stale" link between the coalfield in western Germany and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The line was specially constructed for the transport of coke to the Luxembourg steelworks in the mining area. Today the railway has been transformed into a cycle path through nature.On the way you will pass several signs with information about the area where you are and about the history of this unique railway.
