The five-arch viaduct was built in 1864 and crosses the idyllic Elbe valley at a height of around 30 metres. It was extensively restored in 2014 and has been part of the Elbschetal cycle path ever since.

The viaduct, which towers high above the Elbsche valley, was originally built so that the railway could cross the river at this height. Today, a cycle path runs along it.
