Here, at the crossroads of several forest and hiking trails, once stood four beeches. The first 250 years old tree was felled in 1913, the second one, it was 200 years old, uprooted in 1939 a storm, the third tree was felled in 1951 and the fourth tree had to be felled in 1971 after 150 years also because he was infected by the white rot , But it is already worried again for "offspring". Close to the location of the last beeches, a new one was planted. Certainly a few hundred more years will pass before it reaches the size of the old beeches. There is something else in the eye besides the beeches and the little hut. A high wooden cross recalls the fallen employees of the State Forestry Office Lauenau in the World Wars.
