The Parliament Building in Budapest, or Országház in Hungarian, is one of Hungary's most impressive landmarks and one of the largest parliament buildings in the world. Located on the banks of the Danube in the Pest district, it was designed by Imre Steindl in the Neo-Gothic style with Renaissance elements. Construction began in 1885 and was completed in 1902. Measuring 268 meters long, 123 meters wide, and boasting a 96-meter-high dome—a reference to the year 896 of the Hungarian Conquest—the building impresses with its monumental architecture. It comprises 691 rooms, countless corridors, and 365 turrets. Inside, gold-decorated columns, stained glass windows, and magnificent halls, particularly the Dome Hall with the Hungarian St. Stephen's Crown, are breathtaking. Today, the Parliament Building is the seat of the Hungarian National Parliament and one of Budapest's most visited attractions.
