Pierre Bardou, a wealthy industrialist from Perpignan, commissioned an architect to build a castle for his three children each. The son Justin got the castle of Aubiry in Céret, the one daughter Camille (married to Charles Ducup got the castle of Ducup in Saint Paul and the other daughter Jeanne got the castle of Valmy in Argelès-sur-Mer.
In 1930 the castle was sold and the new owners started growing wine. As a result, the wines became recognized brands here.

The castle is still in the family of the new owners at the time. The castle is also used for tourism. Premises can be rented for vacation.
