An ancient path that winds along the ridge of the Lessini mountains, used for centuries, since ancient times, for transhumance, today transformed into a new tourist route, which climbs from Soave and reaches San Bortolo, in Selva di Progno. The itinerary crosses the municipalities of Soave, Cazzano, Illasi, Tregnago, Badia Calavena and Selva di Progno. The paved path has an average width of three meters. It is an itinerary surrounded by greenery, which starts from the classic Soave area, therefore from hills with intensive cultivation declined to the vine, to then reach and cross olive groves, the cherry trees of the Tramigna valley and the woods of the upper Lessinia. The entire Via della Lana, which alternates sections paved in concrete with white paths, is equipped with signs to give the correct information to visitors.
This ancient road, which climbs between deciduous woods and numerous small streams with pouring and clear waters, was for centuries the only road that connected the people of the town and the districts of San Bortolo with the valley. From there transhumances passed both towards the mountains for the summer pastures, and back for winter grazing in the plains.
A valley rich in water, thanks to the numerous small streams that descend from the side of San Bortolo and the streams that come out here and there in the woods.
