The gorge is very interesting because it leads through narrow passes and stone cliffs rise from both sides. The mountain trail leading to the Vela Vrženica canyon is considered to be one of the most demanding trails on the island of Krk and is therefore for those who are not afraid of climbing.

The Vrženica canyon starts a few hundred meters from the Vrženica beach. I like the cliffs to both sides, that give the canyon a rather unlively feeling.
The whole path requires absolute sure footedness and against our intuition was very sunny. The cliffs rarely cast rather small shades where you can rest.
Because of the excessive sun we drank almost 2.5 liters per person from the beach to the exit.
