The breakpoint America (Sachs) of the former railway line Glauchau - Wurzen is located east of Penig in here deeply cut into the landscape valley of the Zwickauer Mulde. The so-called Muldentalbahn was discontinued in 2002, but there are from time to time driving offers with motorized railways. From here there is a good selection of hiking opportunities, such as the Rochsburg and the local suspension bridge over the Mulde, the Höllmühle Chursdorf, the White Tip Penig and others.

    "Railtracki" at the station
He got his name due to the fact that in the village since 1836 was a calico print shop, which was accessible to visitors only on the hollow - first on some large stones, then later on a boat. It was then pulled over the pond, this expression was then already known for the trip to the United States and so the concept of America at the hollow for the factory and the surrounding area. But only in 1876, the freight yard on the railway line Glauchau-Wurzen officially registered as the railway station America.
The regular traffic on the railway line was stopped after the flood in 2002. Meanwhile, pedestrians can cross the hollow of America via a bridge.Since 1 January 1994 America belongs to the city of Penig. ☝🏻🙂

Anyone who walks around the last yellow building at the train station has the largest lettering for their photos where there is
