The painter's angle house sits picturesquely on the creek wall of the Breitbach. The oldest parts of the current building were probably built in the early 17th century and it got its current appearance towards the end of the 18th century. For a long time it was a business building for the cloth trade and later for spices. Today it houses a museum.

The painter's corner house, which is picturesquely situated on the Breitbach and originally dates back to the 17th century, is the landmark of the town of Marktbreit and is still a popular motif for artists and photographers. While the building served as a commercial building (spice shop) for centuries, it now houses the Malerwinkelhaus Museum with the permanent exhibition “Women’s Room. Stations of life in a small Franconian town" and the "Roman Cabinet".
