Based on its appearance, the term “ruin” would seem appropriate, but that is not the case in this case. It is not a destroyed or demolished structure, but rather an unfinished structure. It is unknown why the chapel was not rebuilt after the war. Centgrave Leonhart Gackstatt gave away the bells that had already been purchased to the Franciscan monastery of Miltenberg in 1630.

Above Bürgstadt is the Centgrafenkapelle, from which one has a wonderful view over Bürgstadt and Miltenberg to the Mildenburg.
