a random path going up groups of young and non-young people who indicated an Orthodox place of worship on the mountain. an incredible discovery not reported on any map! very beautiful and daring if I can say the route with the last km at 20/25% of the climb

The path leads to the historic cave church of Agia Paraskevi, sometimes also locally referred to simply as a hermitage or Moni Agias Paraskevis. The roots of the complex reach far back, parts of the historical structure are dated to the 11th century AD.
It is an impressive rock sanctuary, where part of the church interior was built directly into a natural cave. Such hermitages served as retreats for hermits in the inaccessible Acarnanian mountains for centuries, and in times of foreign rule as secret refuges for the local population.
