Ignore the websites that give bizarre directions to Charlie's Cave. It's easy to find along a well worn path that doesn't involve climbing deer fences or climbing up and down ravines. At the top of the tarmac farm road at the old waterworks walk to behind the old green scout hut. Then walk to bottom field and through a gate, walk towards cottage and before you reach it, cross the bridge over a burn and immediately turn left onto a track. Follow this track for half a mile keeping deer fence on right and you will reach your destination.
