The Wildsee between Reith and Seefeld has probably been around for as long as the mountains themselves.
In 1022, the small settlement "Sevelt" (Feld am See) was first mentioned. The area around the Wildsee was already known for its lush flora and fauna in the time of Emperor Maximilian I. A species of fish that was specially settled there later made the Wildsee popularly known under the name "Lampretensee". However, the economic use of the water was limited to a few decades - today the natural jewel is under protection, and fishing is therefore also prohibited.

The not too big, idyllic Wildsee with its circular path is actually the ideal length for a nice short round trip. There are many places to sit along the path that invite you to linger. The surrounding mountain panorama is beautiful and in the evening sun the Wildsee and the mountains are a sensational postcard motif.
