The founder of Staberhof and the first owner in Fehmarn was Jacob Mackeprang from Blieschendorf. In 1748 he acquired the so-called Staberdorfer Holzweiden from the Danish King Frederick the Fifth. Until then, these had served the Danish royal family as a hunting ground. As early as 1752 he handed over the business to his second son Hinrich Mackeprang, who owned the Staberhof until 1765 and built the first buildings. The oldest surviving building in Staberhof, the picturesque half-timbered house, which is completely hidden behind the wheat barn, probably dates from this time.

Until 1830, Staberhof changed hands several times, so that today it is difficult to understand who built the manor house and the gate barn with the baroque gable. Both were built in the last third of the 18th century.
