The Reevesluis is a lock in the Drontermeer, just south of Reve and the mouth of the Reevediep. The Reeve lock is 10.5 meters wide. The lock gate of the lower head weighs 43 tons and measures 12.5 x 7.7 metres. The overhead door weighs 51 tons and measures 12.5 x 9.7 metres. The lock replaces the Roggebot lock and takes over its flood defense function. The Reevesluis complex consists of a lock, a discharge sluice and a fish passage. The construction of the lock started in February 2018 and it was taken into use on Monday 28 October 2019. East of the lock, construction of the sluice started. From now on, ships must pass through the lock. [1] After completion, the northern part of the Drontermeer will be called Reevemeer [2]. The Reevesluis and Reevedam situated in its extension form the border between the Reevemeer and the (southern part of the) Drontermeer. This lock was constructed as part of Room for the River. This lock and the Reevediep will allow the IJssel to drain water into the future Reevemeer. From mid-2021, a new walking and cycling connection between the municipalities of Kampen, Dronten and Oldebroek will be built over the dam and the lock. The lock is located at the point of three provinces of Gelderland, Overijssel and Flevoland.

New crossing from old land to new land. Handy if you don't want to go all the way to Elburg or to Roggebot.
